West Ham United aren’t panicking despite Dmitri Payet’s comments about a potential move away from the club.
Payet appeared to hint that he would be open to a move away from the club in January, with Paris Saint Germain and former side Marseille reportedly interested.
After signing a new deal in February, West Ham had hoped his £125,000 a week wages would fend of interest, however Payet appears open to a move.
When asked about his future plans, Payet said: “We’ve had a very poor start. Leave in January? I’m asking other questions right now but I’ve closed the door to nothing.”
Sky Sports claim that West Ham are confident Payet will remain with the London club until at least the end of the season.
Payet enjoyed an incredible first season in England firing West Ham to seventh last term, however the Hammes have struggled since moving to the Olympic Stadium.
The east Londoners have won just three of their opening 11 Premier League matches and sit in 16th place, just a point clear of the relegation zone.
