Founded in 1880 as St Mark’s they became Manchester City in 1894. The club moved into their new City of Manchester Stadium in 2002.
With the majority of their trophies spread out over their long history, arguably their greatest period of the club’s history is now. Manchester City have won both the Premier League and FA Cup in the last three years.
The Citizens have won three league titles, five FA Cups as well as two League Cup triumphs in their club’s history.
In Europe Manchester City have just the one success, a UEFA Cup Winners Cup back in 1970, beating Polish side Gornik Zabrze 2-1 in the final.
In 2008 the club were taken over by Shiek Mansour and his Abu Dhabi United Group. The move saw them become the richest side in England and have since spent over £500million in the transfer market.
They broke numerous records on route to the 2017-18 Premier League title, claiming 100 points in the process.
