Crystal Palace was formed in 1905 and move to the club’s ground Selhurst Park in 1924.
Palace’s most successful period came in the late 1980’s early 90’s when the club earned promotion to the then First Division. They backed promotion up with an F.A Cup final (which they lost to Manchester United) before finishing 3rd in the top flight the following season.
Crystal Palace have won the Second Division twice (1978/79 and 1993/94) however the top honours have eluded the club.
The London based side have won promotion to the top flight via the play-offs four times, which is an English record. They also have achieved this feat at four different venues (Selhurst Park, Old Wembley, Millennium Stadium, New Wembley).
Having previously failed to survive in the Premier League in their first four attempts, Palace have remained in the division comfortably the last four seasons despite an incredible overhaul of managers.
